Trying some stuff, not liking any of that stuff. :V

I still like the original look (1) the best, though I'll concede the blue version (2) is growing on me.

...Well, that's a bit of a lie, since I actually like the 90s barf SatAM version (3) best, but it takes forever to lay down all the colors correctly, so it's not really an efficient design. And besides that, Sonic should look pretty simple and uncluttered.

So I think 2 is the winner? Maybe, haha. But 1 seems more AMERICAN.
